More pictures - Christmas decor!

For the first time since my Mom died, I am "into" this Christmas season. Here's a picture of our tree and stockings.

How cute are these kids???

My bathroom in the basement. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ta Da!!!!

OK, I am still not used to this Blog thing. I want these pictures in a different order and it won't let me add any more pictures. UGH! Anyway....here are pictures of the basement! I wanted the "before" first and then the "after", but whatever - you get the idea! We LOVE it so much! Been a fairly calm week. Jacob is starting to talk a lot and we love that. He's repeating EVERYTHING we say. Still can't understand a lot of what he says, but it's getting better. Lydia starting rolling and I think we'll try cereal soon. I keep putting it off as I just don't feel like messing with it! The room in the second pic would not have existed if it weren't for Rick. It was a huge stoarge room (see the last pic below) and Rick convinced me to knock it down. I am so happy he did!

So proud of himself........

Tonight after his bath Jacob went pee pee in his potty!!! Just the slightest trickle, but still. Now I know we could still be months and months from him being potty trained, but it was so exciting. The best thing was how darn proud he was of himself. I wish that I had my camera to take a picture of him stitting on his froggy potty in his Thomas the Tank robe (Rick and I call him Hugh Hefner when he wears this robe - it is so cute). These are the moments that I love the most.
Last week was a crazy but very good week. Our basement is 95% done (pictures will be coming soon) and we LOVE it. We had Thanksgiving with most of the Wilson Clan (Cristi - we missed you guys) and that was lots of fun. Yummy food and game and card playing well into the wee hours of the morning. Saturday we had JT's 1st birthday party here. Carrie did such an awesome job with all the decor for the Duckie themed party. It was awesome. Saturday night Rick bought a new Christmas tree and put it up. We just need to decorate it and get all the other stuff out. Jacob LOVES the tree and seems surprised all over again each time he sees it. He is going to love Christmas. I can't wait.
Lydia is 5 mo old today. I can't believe it. She's doing great. So darn cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RICK tomorrow!!!!! 35 - Yikes!

Jakers!!

Appearantly Jacob like the Beastie Boys! Every time this song comes on he gets his groove on. Too cute. Here are 2 short clips of him. Sorry the second one is sideways. I have no clue how to fix that!

Loud Lydia!

Here's my first attempt at putting a video from my camera on here. Hope it works! This is Lydia last night "talking" to Rick and I. We (esp. Rick!) sound like idiots, but she sounds adorable. She IS adorable, isn't she?

Basment is almost done. We get the carpet on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so stinkin' excited I can't stand it. I will post before and after pictures once I get it organized the way I want it. :-) We also found out that thanks to the wind storm in September we are getting a new roof. They start on the roof tomorrow!! So the noise from the basement is gone (all they are doing now is painting) and now I get the noise from the roof. I keep telling myself that by Tuesday it will all be done. Next week should be a fun and crazy one with the finishing of the basement, then we are having the Wilson's over for Thanksgiving (NO I am NOT cooking a turkey - Rick's Mom is), and then Saturday is JT's first bday party here at the house. Madness, but so much fun!

Halloween/New pictures

Halloween was tons of fun this year. We had our friends over with their boys and all but one was a character from Star Wars. We had Princess Leia, Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Vadar, and Scooby Doo! At first Jacob was not at all interested in going up to people and getting candy. But then someone was sitting outside with a dog and he was hooked. He walked up to see the Dog and got candy! After that there was no stopping my Yoda. We all came back to our house and hung out and let the kids run wild. You would think Jacob would have been so tired that he would sleep all night. Yeah right. He was up 3 times that night! UGH! But it was all worth it and tons of fun. Here are some pics. I didn't get a good group shot or a good one of Lydia. I'm not so great at picture taking these days!

Lydia after her bath - I cannot get a picture of her smiling!

Jacob and his latest obsession - lining up all of his cars in perfect order! I am so proud that Jakers may have inherited my OCD tendencies! :-)

ok......I QUIT!

Most days I enjoy being home with the kids. I know many Moms would love to be able to stay home and I do count my blessings that I am able to do so. Today is NOT one of those days. I want to walk away and quit this job! I started my period (TMI I know, but whatever) so that just adds to my bad mood. Jacob and I both are starting with colds so we have snot and crankiness. By 1:00 I had changed 5 poopy diapers, cleaned up cat puke, used almost a whole box of tissues, and asked my contractor to "please get rid of the dead chipmunk in my garage". Yep, I think Rick ran over Alvin the Chipmunk. I was simply going to throw away a bag of garbage and there he was. Yuk, gross! The basement is coming along great and will be so awesome when it is done. Most days I can tune out the noise, but today on top of whiny kids I just want SILENCE!!! I know, life could be a million times worse. I know this more than most people. But today I am just not in any mood for anything. I think Mom's deserve 2 weeks vacation/sick days.

I feel old......

What a week! I started my Physical Therapy for my foot on Tuesday. Shouldn't have to go too much, but it makes me feel old! The thing that I am most upset about is that I can't wear much other than gym shoes. Now, I HATE shoes and I hate shoes with backs on them even more. I am a barefoot or sandal, or slip-on shoe kind of gal. So having to wear gym shoes sucks. Could be 8 weeks before I am all better and can comfortably wear what I want. I know, I know, it could be worse. Whatever.
Rick and I have also decided to finish the basement. We've been thinking about it since the day we looked at this house and thought we may as well just do it now. The contractors are starting Wed and will be done by Thanksgiving. In the meantime it's going to drive me nuts to have these guys in my house for weeks, but hopefully totally worth it.
Here is what my week with the kids looked like........
Mr. Jacob has been cranky all week. Who knows why. He seems to get really frustrated when I can't figure out what he wants. In this picture he wanted me to play with his cars, but I was feeding Lydia so he had to wait. He's not too patient. All he wants to do is watch the Shrek movie. He's even asking for it by name now. He refuses to say "mommy", but will ask for Shrek. What a punk!
Saturday Rick's cousin Joe got married. It was gorgeous day for a wedding. The ceremony was outside at a gazebo. A little chilly, but very nice. The reception was a blast. Rick and I haven't been out like that in forever and we made the best of it. The kids were at home with my sister so we drank and danced all night long. Rick and his cousins acted out the Barry Manilow song "Copacabana" as part of the best man's toast. Rick sang. Too funny. I tried to get it on video with my camera, but it's so dark and then cuts off in the middle.
We got home at 1am after a quick stop at White Castle! Lydia was up at 6:30. She hasn't woken up before 7:30am in weeks. Rick and I laid in bed moaning and groaning from aches and pains from dancing. Here is where I felt very old. I literally couldn't move! My back, hips, and thighs were killing me. I had to have my coffee and some Ibuprofen before I felt alive again. We won't be going out like that again for a while!
Here's a picture of the happy couple. They walked into the reception to the song "Highway to hell"! Ha ha!!!!
Congratulations Jamie and Joe!!!!!!! We are so happy for you guys. You deserve all the happiness in the world.

Rick's new toy

So Rick has talking for a loooooooooong time about getting a new car. As most of you know, he drives a ton for work and his car has almost 270K miles on it. After lots of debating over driving it until it dies or get rid of it now while someone can use it, we chose the latter. Rick springs this on me Friday night on the way home from Skyline. I thought he was going to get a car in a few weeks. Well, he got one yesterday. Was going to get a newer "old" one (like a 2007), but that didn't make sense with the awesome financing offers they have on new cars. He came home yesterday with a 2009 Toyota Camry - silver. It's very nice and Rick's like a little kid. I am already sick of hearing about this car!!! This is his first brand new car. Oh and we already have his old Camry sold. Sorry Linda........Rick's nephew is buying it.
The weekend was good. The first weekend in a while we didn't have any plans. Well, we were supposed to walk in the Children's Hospital Walk, but since I fell a few weeks ago and am wearing an aircast there was no way I was walking! Of course Rick was gone yesterday for hours buying a new car, but whatever.
Jacob has started this extremely annoying screaming thing. He screams all the time - when he is mad, when he wants something, whatever. How do I make it stop????? I can't stand it!!!!!

Lydia's Baptism

Here is my first official "real" post! Hope it works.
Sunday Lydia was baptised at St. Simon church. It was the quickest baptism I have ever been at. Took about 10 mins. The Godparents are Rick's sister Cristi and his brother Jim. Lydia was a good girl. Didn't cry at all, but did throw up all over her pretty gown. No big shocker there! After the ceremony we had the family back to the house. It was a good time had by all. Here's some pictures of the day and a few more recent ones of the kiddos.

Is it too soon for an eyebrow wax? Poor Jacob and his uni-brow!

Virgin Blogger

Welcome to my blog! I thought that I would finally try this. Hope you enjoy reading about the Wilson clan.
